THE CERTIFICATE SAGA

Going by the recent development in the Nigerian polity, referring to the certificate saga of the president of Nigeria, in person of President Mohammodu Buhari, it is so disheartening that this is happening at this time. I don't want to go into the melodramatic nature that characterized the previous arguments, objections , counter arguments and what have you. For the sake of clarity you can follow up the story especially from the year 2015 when the President became prominent.

All said, I do not want to discredit or entangle myself in a claustrophobic mindset, my take is just that anything that we do today would always leave traces for posterity will to judge. In a nutshell, we should always strive to do things right. Don't want to mention names, because that is not the ultimate motive for writing this piece. I just want to emphasize that the dirty game of politics should be separated from the pillars of a Nation such as education, religion , culture etcetera. What do I mean by that? The recent involvement of WAEC as an institution in the certificate saga and the non clarity of purpose of the said institution has made everything even more complicated.

Most Nigerians do not really know who to believe, may be Presidency or WAEC. Again, I will not want to go into details of what both parties said about applying for attestation or not, that is again not the underlying cause for this write-up.

However, before you start wandering what my major concern is , I will want to state unequivocally that WAEC should as a matter of urgency and the sake of clarity, should present things in clearer terms as they are the only ones to clear themselves from this subjective chimera that they have placed themselves.

Furthermore, the most imperative reason for them to speedily do this is owing to the fact that, they should not further discredit the educational system that has already been in a dilapidated state, especially to the international community where they look at our educational system and qualifications as "shit hole". As is it, presently, you cannot use your certificate/qualifications to secure a good job in countries that are called advanced countries without having to support it with their own certificate, even if it is an internship. It is even more catastrophic that we ourselves do not regard our own certificates as a means to work in Blue-Chip or Multinational companies as they preferably want to employ graduates from Harvard, Oxford Universities and what have you, leaving us that obtained our certificates in Nigeria to the mercy of God.

In summary, WAEC as a matter of urgency should stand as an uncompromising entity, so that, our WAEC results can be recognised globally whenever we want to use it to apply for anything, be it further studies or whatever and we should not be seen as a laughing stock, looking at our WAEC certificates as "Oluwole" debris and WAEC as an institution a dunghill. This is my only FEAR.

The Black Wall Street Journal

Delving into the historical background of the underlying fundamentals that first made up The Black Wall Street would invariably reveal and give great insight about the concept of our well organised and galvanised movement to rescue Africa from the shackles of economic woes. Reminiscent on past events, The Black Wall Street had its origin from a community called Tulsa which was later named Greenwood after a town in Mississippi by one of the founding Fathers, Ottawa W. Gurley in Oklahoma USA. They were formally organised in 1906 when a group of African-Americans converged together to develop Tulsa, Greenwood community in order to ensure freedom from social segregation, racial bigotry, flippant oppression, relentless barbarism, manhunt and picnic. Someone might be tempted to ask why picnic. Unknown to many, the word "picnic" was actually coined from the word "pick a nigger to lynch", which literally means pick a black guy to kill, this happened in the predominantly wh
